Brazosport Regional Health System Welcomes New Chaplain
 Brazosport Regional Health System is pleased to announce the addition of their new chaplain, John Price, BA, MA, CPE. As the hospital’s chaplain, John will offer spiritual and pastoral support to patients, visitors and staff of any denomination.
John is a graduate from Sam Houston State University with a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Education. After graduating, John was employed at Amoco Chemical Plant, owned and operated a cabinet remodeling company and later worked as a shop teacher for Sweeny Jr. High. In 1989, John became the youth minister at the First Baptist Church in Sweeny and now assists his wife, Lisa Price, as a music minister.
John continued his education and received a Masters of Arts in Religious Education degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is affiliated with the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE), the main accrediting organization for chaplaincy programs in the U.S., and finished all of his required clinical hours by completing his residency at Memorial Hermann Southwest. John is currently board-eligible with the Association of Professional Chaplains and upon completion of 2,000 hours of full-time chaplaincy and passing a rigorous peer review, he will become board-certified.
As Brazosport Regional’s chaplain, he will focus on the spiritual and emotional needs of patients, families, caregivers, and the health system’s team members of all faiths. He is committed to offer comfort that is centered on what each individual believes and values. His charismatic and outgoing personality makes him easy to talk to and each visit is strictly confidential.
