Brazosport Regional Cancer Center Installs Linear Accelerator
Brazosport Regional Cancer Center has recently accepted delivery of the Elekta Synergy®, the world’s first radiation treatment system with an integrated 3D imaging system that will enable clinicians to image and treat patients simultaneously. The Elekta Synergy® digital linear accelerator enables more aggressive treatment of tumors while minimizing damage to healthy tissue, resulting in improved patient outcomes. The result is unmatched clinical confidence.
Brazosport Regional’s approach to cancer treatment has been developed with the patient’s needs in mind. The state of the art equipment will enable radiation oncologists to obtain images just before treatment with the patient in the exact position he or she will be treated in. The goal is to improve the patient’s quality of life and the chances for long-term survival.
Following installation, the equipment will undergo an extensive state approval process. The Elekta Synergy® at Brazosport Regional will be ready for clinical use in 6-8 weeks.
Brazosport Regional is the first radiation oncology center in Southeast Texas to offer this advanced service and technology to its patients.
